Mr. Gay states that Mrs.

After a period of absence, she returned to the employ of CHARLES ROBERTSON the bank in 1955 where she has occupied numerous places of responsibility having served as proof clerk, secretary, chief clerk in loan department and teller. Mr. Gay praised Mrs. Middleton as being one of the most capable and pleasant employees ever to work at the bank. She was elected Assistant Cashier in 1966 and will now occupy the position of Assistant Vice President.

Her husband is Joe Middleton, and they have one daughter, Mrs. Susan Carlisle. Arthur Beard came to the bank after experience as collection and loan man with a finance company. He immediately stepped into the loan department of the bank and has concentrated his attention largely on personal and installment loans. According to Gay, he showed promise immediately and the directors have been pleased with his progress.

He was elected as Assistant Cashier in 1966 and has been directing his department. The recognition given Beard in electing him Assistant Vice President was justly deserved, Gay stated. He is married to the former Glenda Hess and they have two children. Charles Robertson completed his college course at the Jacksonville State in 1961 and then became associated with a bank in Georgia for two years. He then spent about one year in the the life insurance business before joining the staff of the First National in 1965.

Weatherly, Vice President, State National Bank of Alabama, Scottsboro Office, has announced that the contract for construction of their new building has been awarded to Martin Construction Company of Huntsville, Ala, Construction will start shortly and it is anticipated that the building will be completed by September of this year. State National's new office is located on the corner of Laurel and Scott Streets. The new facility will have two drive- in windows, a large, well-lighted modern lobby with two conference rooms. Mr.

Weatherly commented that one cf these conference rooms can be entered after banking hours and would be available for small committee meetings. A spacious parking lot will be available for bank customers who wish to do banking at their leisure. Mr. Weatherly stated that it has always been the aim of State National to have each of its offices set the standard in its community for excellence in appearance. Scotties Take Win In Deshler Tourney The Scotties defeated the Deshler High School Saturday night 65 to 59 to win the Deshler Tournament, The tournament was played in Tuscumbia and the Scotties had to come from behind to win.
